Paul william thompsonPugh & Co’s first autumn auctions raised £8.5m across all four venues – Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool. At Newcastle, a former takeaway on Bow Street, Guisborough was sold at £108,000 – £48,000 above the guide price.
An empty two storey shop on High Street, Redcar also sold for £55,000 and an industrial unit at Standard Way Industrial Estate, Northallerton went for £57,000. Kate Lay, head of The Auction People, said: “We are delighted with our sales, up by 44 per cent on last year. This demonstrates an increasing appetite for auction. We have a surge of agents interested in our partner agent programme.”
The partner agent programme offers agents the opportunity to provide an auction service to its clients by partnering with the experts at The Auction People.
Paul Thompson, director, added, “It was another busy round of auctions with a number of interesting commercial lots snapped up and residential properties exceeding expectations. We are looking forward to October’s auctions now!”
