Stephen Casey joins London Square board

Stephen CaseyThe former chairman of Fairview, Stephen Casey has joined London Square as a non-executive director. In his new role at London Square, Casey will advise the board, including chief executive Adam Lawrence and non-executive chairman Mark Pain on land acquisitions. He said, “London Square is in an excellent position, with the cash to buy sites and no baggage. I am looking forward to working with Adam and his track record at Barratt was second to none. He has the tenacity and experience to drive London Square forward, with the guiding philosophy of focusing on small scale, quality development.”

During a 39 year career at Fairview, Stephen Casey steered the company from public to private ownership. After joining Fairview as an Area Sales Manager in 1970, Stephen Casey progressed through the company to Group 

Sales and Marketing Director in 1988. In 1997, he was made Managing Director. Fairview became a listed company in 1998 and in October 2000, Stephen and his fellow directors oversaw a successful share buyback and took the company private. In March 2002, Fairview bought out 3i, the main financiers for the share buyback, well ahead of schedule. In April 2009, Stephen was appointed Executive Chairman. He retired from Fairview last year.
